What about Serenity's Journal? She needs a solid hosting engine, and is very good.

Posted by Everydaystranger at April 25, 2004 03:39 PMCertainly! Serenity is welcome anytime!
At least, once I've shaken these last few bugs out after the upgrade...
Posted by: Pixy Misa at April 25, 2004 06:21 PMWow, comments are fast though. Who needs tracbacks?!
Posted by: Pixy Misa at April 25, 2004 06:22 PMYay!!1 for Serenity!
Posted by: Madfish Willie at April 25, 2004 07:38 PMAbsolutely Yay!

Posted by: Stephen Macklin at April 27, 2004 11:23 AMI'll "Yay!" to that.
(That's for Serenity, not the lack of trackbacks. Though the fast comments get a "Yay!" too!)
Posted by: jim at April 27, 2004 03:15 PMYay! for everything and "Yes Please" for Serenity.
Posted by: Debbye at April 27, 2004 05:11 PMWow! I had no idea this was going on until I got a letter from Helen.
I would absolutely love to blog for free...here is my current dilemma with switching over:
I have paid for two years for my domain name...I have an entire year to go.
The hosting company I use really is very good and I'm quite loyal to them. I have been exceedingly pleased with how they handle situations.
I have seen what Mu Nu can do and it's really cool and it's so wonderful of Pixy Misa to do this...so I guess the questions are:
Where can I read about what Mu Nu has to offer in the way of dealing with server crashes or letters from lawyers who get snippy over photoshopped John Kerry images and handling people who write in about censorship? These are all things Hosting Matters has handled so unbelievably well...
And...since moving to Mu Nu would mean I would lose my current domain...that I have paid for...erm...how long does the invitation hold?
Yes, I love Hosting Matters...but there are times when I so wish that I had heard of Mu Nu before I moved from DeadJournal.
Tough call for me....any comments?
Posted by: Serenity at April 28, 2004 04:21 AMThese are Pixy's issues to deal with, but I would say:
Screw the lawyers... John Kerry is a public figure, hence in the public domain;
Screw the crybabies... censorship is done by governments, not individuals;
Your domain name can be handled via a re-direct set up by Pixy, so you're not out of pocket there.
The only time our server crashed, it really crashed... it fell over on Christmas day and Pixy went in to the office and took care of it. Other than that, we haven't had any downtime. Plus Pixy is a paranoid backup artist so we never lose information.
I say we leave the offer standing for Serenity.
She's worth it.
Posted by: Helen at April 29, 2004 03:30 PMI say Yay and whenever. I mean look how long we all worked on Harvey.
Posted by: Kang A. Roo at April 30, 2004 05:56 PMSerenity, you should be able to transfer your domain across without problems.
As for the snippy letters from lawyers, though, Hosting Matters are probably better at dealing with that sort of thing than me (and certainly have more experience). I have a lot of respect for the Hosting Matters team - from what I've seen they really have their act together.
Posted by: Pixy Misa at April 30, 2004 07:41 PMSerenity, I bequeath on you a resounding "Yay!"
Sure wish you could. It'd be great. You'd love it here, everyone is so nice and supportive. I'm amazingly impressed.
Moving here was the best blog-related thing I ever did. And I have Madfish Willie and Pixy Misa to thank for that. And the huge Munuviana family.
Posted by: Mamamontezz at May 3, 2004 04:51 AMPixy...please email me about this. I have some more questions for you.
